A little History about the Seattle Miniature Show

This will be the 48th Annual Seattle Show in 2026. The very first show was produced in 1978, by Hobby World Exhibits, Owner Pat Olsen, a local miniature collector. It was a one day show held annually at an Armory near the Seattle Centre. Later Pat moved the show to the Seattle Centre at the Flag Pavillon, a 14,000 square foot exhibit space, capable of holding more than 100 dealers tables and 20 exhibit tables.

In 1985 Pat Olsen sold the show to Georgia Matuschak, of Poulsbo, Washington, also a local collector & miniature artisan. Georgia grew the show to a two day show, which drew dealers in from other states, and also European dealers. She also helped improve the buyers, by offering free entrance to the show, just to peak anyone’s curiosity about the miniature world, turning some attendees into collectors. The mailing list was also mechanized making advertising a bit easier.

In 1990 Georgia sold the business to Pat Williams of Port Orchard, Washington. Pat and her husband Jim, created the first website and were able to further grow the show’s attendance with more advertisement. Due to the high demand of Dealers wanting into the show, Pat began a second Seattle Miniature Show that took place starting the Fall of 1993. She also started to pre-sell tickets to get the public in faster.

In 2000, Pat sold the show to Kris Hill of Bellingham, Washington, who later sold the show to Pat Bennett, who ran the show during Spring in Seattle and then Portland, Oregon from about 2005-2006 to 2025.

Without these Miniature enthusiasts the show would not be a current success today! So a Big THANK YOU to all of these Mini Lovers.
